“A woman can do everything!”:Determination begins early

“A woman is able to handle her house along with her job!” exclaims Alishba Tariq. “She can be a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother. A woman can do everything, and I don’t understand why people think they cannot handle an office job or a career in medicine. I want to be the type of person who proves girls can stand alongside boys in any field.” At the age of 13, Alishba has already decided that societal biases will not stand in her way. “As the eldest sibling in my family, I am already under pressure to set a good example for my siblings,” says Alishba. “If I can set an example for them, I can set an example for society.” She dreams of becoming a cardiologist one day: “Saving the life of another is the best thing I can do.”
