Middle School Assessment Framework
Building a Strong Foundation for Learning
Middle school is a time when students are beginning to explore the world around them but, more so, about how they stand in relation to it. At this age, they are observant, enjoy being independent learners, and grasp new things quickly. This is the reason why they are introduced to a wide range of subjects in middle school so that they can move forward with a stronger foundation for advanced studies.
Keeping in view the academic and developmental needs of the children ages 11-13, AKU-EB has developed the Middle School Assessment Framework (MSAF), which introduces an exciting new way of teaching and assessment in middle school classrooms.
One important aim of the Framework is to support the efforts of schools to lay a broad-based foundation of learning in these critical years. The Framework is designed to pave a smooth transition to secondary school studies. We encourage you to browse through the Schemes of Work, Assessment, Project Portfolio and Progress Test sections to learn in detail about the Framework.
AKU-EB's Middle School Assessment Framework is self-contained and can be taken either independently or as part of a continuum to AKU-EB's Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificates. However, we recommend adopting it in combination with the other qualifications we offer in order to better prepare your students for higher level studies.
