Girls shine brighter than boys in the Aga Khan University Examination Board’s annual examination result for Secondary School Certificate (SSC Part I and II) announced on Monday. The female students bagged the top three board positions as well as scored higher overall as compared to the boys.
With the announcement of the result yesterday, the Board has continued with its tradition of releasing the results within six weeks of the published schedule.
This year, AKU-EB tested students in over 90 subjects at 32 centres in 28 cities across Pakistan.
While the overall passing rate for all SSC candidates was 81.1 per cent, in SSC-Part 1 fifty seven (57) per cent girls scored an A-Grade or above, and in SSC-Part II thirty nine (39) per cent girls obtained an A-Grade or above.
Rutaba Nadeem of ETN High School, Karachi topped this year’s examination by securing 93.8 per cent marks. Second position was jointly secured by Marium Zehra and Mehdia Nadeem Rajab Ali of Al-Murtaza School, Karachi with 92.95 per cent, and third position was obtained by Khizra Fatima of Al Murtaza School, Karachi with 92.76 per cent marks.
“Secondary school graduation is a special time in a student’s educational life. As an exam board, we make sure that their learning experience with us is more memorable and enjoyable,” said Karima Kara, Associate Director, AKU-EB.
“We ensure that students are ready for the next step in their educational life with the right skills needed in higher secondary school and then further in the universities,” she added. “This is the reason why more and more parents now prefer AKU-EB for their young SSC graduates as they have already seen the benefits of conceptual learning in their children.”
A complete list of all position holders will be shared with the Affiliated Schools very soon.
Naheed Noor, Principal, ETN High School, admiring AKU-EB said, “We have seen a tremendous change in our students’ learning since we joined AKU-EB; they have become creative, critical thinkers, and not just that, their ethical values have groomed a lot.”
She added, “The best part is that our Intermediate level students clear the university admission tests without any professional help. One of our students made us proud by obtaining fourth position in the aptitude test for Electrical Engineering at NED University last year.” AKU-EB has released its May 2013 Examination session results for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) as per the announced schedule.
SSC results have been released online through AKU-EB’s website. AKU-EB candidates and Affiliated Schools may view their results confidentially by using the pre-assigned authentication.
