Agreement Trial Meeting Series Begins Today

As part of its Annual Teachers’ Professional Development Programme, AKU-EB launched today the Agreement Trial Meeting Series (ATM). The ATM Series has been designed for middle school teachers to help them learn to better assess the project portfolios of their students in Grades VI-VIII registered for Middle School Assessment Framework. In each of these meetings, groups of teachers from the participating schools examine project portfolios completed by students at other schools in comparison with their own. It helps them identify and discuss if their assessment of a particular student differs from the assessment of the students’ own teachers.
As the differences between the internal and external assessment of portfolios are highlighted through this discussion, the teachers learn and share ideas on how to tackle the issues causing the differences. In the end, AKU-EB also makes suggestions on adjusting and aligning the portfolio assessments according to the guidelines and laid out rubrics to help improve student learning and project execution.
